De que ri Barack Obama?
Steve Kroft entrevistou Barack Obama para o 60 Minutes, da CBS. Enquanto dizia que, com o falhanço do Citygroup e da AIG, o mundo continuava sob o risco de implosão, Obama não parava de rir, sorrir. Isso levou o jornalista a questioná-lo, desconstruindo o personagem político demasiado cool e leve, sem o ar pesado que exige a crise - com certeza aconselhado pelos spin doctors a parecer bem disposto. “You're sitting here. And you're— you are laughing. You are laughing about some of these problems. Are people going to look at this and say, ‘I mean, he's sitting there just making jokes about money—’ How do you deal with— I mean: explain. . .” Kroft asked at one point.
“Are you punch-drunk?” Kroft said.
“No, no. There's gotta be a little gallows humor to get you through the day,” Obama said, with a laugh.
