No programa Face The Nation de segunda-feira, dia 28, Hillary Clinton deu uma resposta a Bob Schieffer que em Portugal seria mais do que pindérica: era pirosa e sei lá que mais. Nos EUA dá votos, apesar dos charutos e das pretéritas brincadeiras com Mónica Lewinsky na Sala Oval. Mas o tempo e o poder são esponjas eficazes. Afinal, se Bill se excede no apoio a Hillary, contra Obama, é por amor.
Bob Schieffer pergunta: Algumas pessoas disseram que ele [Bill Clinton] estava fora de controlo, outras que estava a fazer exactamente o que você queria, que era o seu cão de ataque... continuará ele a agir desta forma agressiva ou vai mudar? [tradução livre]
Hillary Clinton responde [transcrição]: “Oh Bob, my husband has such a great commitment to me and to my campaign, he loves me, you know, just like... you know... husbands and wives get out there and work in each others behalf. I certainly did that for him for many years and you know I’m very grateful for all of the help he is giving, supporting me along with my daughter. (...) In my own support of him, sometimes I also got a little carried away.
It’s human nature Bob, the spouses of all three of us have been passionate a vigorous defenders of each of us and maybe got a little carried away. (...) that comes wit sleep depravation...
